Odd food question: Dog biscuit shaped cookie recipe?
So for a gift for a friend, I've decided I want to make cookies that actually LOOK like dog biscuits.
I've got biscuit shaped cutters, but I'm having trouble finding a recipe that'd both taste good, and have the right consistency/texture to be mistaken for dog biscuits. It'd have to be something grainy I assume - I considered something maybe oatmeal-ish - and something that'd hold up to either being shaped before (preferably) or after baking.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and as always, respect the poster!
Added note: due to a food allergy, it can't contain cinnamon.
A simple sugar cookie would be good. Try a gingerbread cookie. Just skip the cinnamon. It would have a similar look.
