My pancakes suck! Why?
Maybe just because i use a stainless steel and it sticks or maybe its just my cooking. I havn't been making pancakes for my whole life or anything but it sucks way too much to be within the normal range. Everytime i try to lift it it falls apart, and no matter how much oil/butter it always sticks.
So now I've got a burnt pan and some bits of burnt "pancakes", more like ewwwwwwwwwww...
Help anyone? Why do I suck?
I just got Pam.. but if i wanted it to not stick at all then i'd have to get a new pan right?
Plus why doesn't my pancake spread out like they're supposed to? Usually I see ppl just leave it on and it thins out
First of all, if you own a non-stick griddle or skillet use it.
If you don't here's a few tips
Use vegetable oil not butter. Butter has more flavor but will likely burn while cooking pancakes. Since your pancakes should have butter in them (my recipe does), it's not important to cook with butter.
Cook the pancake under medium heat (or medium low). Don't touch the pancake until the top of the pancake is covered with popped bubbles. The bottom of the pancake should be browned and will be easier to turn.
If you have a very thin spatula, use that to loosen the bottom rather than a thick plastic one.
