Cake Edible Image

Is it ok to put an edible image on a cake 1 day in advance?

The thing is my birthday is this weekend but I'm worried I wont have time to bake a cake that day. I don't like store bought cakes so that's out of the question. And I'm wondering if it's ok to bake the cake and put the picture on it 1 day in advance? Also, should I keep the cake cool after I put the picture on it or will it make the picture harden?

you can make cakes in advance, that's what all cake makers/shops/bakeries do.
you can also make the edible image in advance.
however, remember that because it is food you don't want it left out in room temperature for any decent length of time, so you should refrigerate it after you have completed it.
the cake should probably be cooled before you ice it/put the image on it too.
what are you making the image out of if you don't want it to go hard?
